Work experience Nearly 4 decades of work experience have given me the opportunity to develop a wealth of both key and technical skills, all of which I look forward to developing further in the future. Fratelli Alinari IDEA spa Head of the unit: R&D supervisor and Digital Archivist project manager (2015- Present) Over the past 25 years I have been involed in several R&D projects. Coordinator of the “Save our Memory” Alinari project aiming to digitize over 5 million images. The project covers the entire pipeline, from content selection, to metadata enrichment, high speed and quality digitization, post processing, visual search and auto-tagging, long term preservation and conservation. I led a team of 12 people in the company managing the R&D department. I have been invited to several international conferences and trade shows to promote and educate the audience about the importance to invest in state-of-the-art technologies, integrate new tools and services using an interoperable approach, focus on open standards, build consensus about usability. I have past or current collaboration, business partnerships and technology beta testing with several IT companies including HP, Kodak, Scitex, Adobe, Epson, PhaseOne, Prasad, PIQL, and Digimarc. Independent consulting on grant applications, cultural heritage projects, marketing (2013-2015) Consulting, monitoring, management and validation activities for profit and not-profit institutions. Support in the field of digital imaging and technical innovations mainly to cultural heritage institutions and state libraries, archives and municipalities (including the business plan and market analysis made for the Hamburg municipality in the framework of the eFoto project (www.efoto-hamburg.de).
