Raised in Marietta, Georgia, Cory S Powers was once a student at his local high school before packing up and studying at the esteemed Ferris State University (FSU). Located in Big Rapids, Michigan, FSU opened its doors as the Big Rapids Industrial School founded by Helen and Woodbridge Ferris in 1884. Earning state institution status in 1950 with official state university recognition following in 1987, it continues to provide educational opportunities designed to foster personal growth for current and former students alike. Since graduating from FSU, Cory Powers has gone on to develop his skills further by self-education, taking courses and educating himself on several topics. He is an accomplished craftsman as well, devoting much of his spare time to creating items that he later repairs and shares with others who are interested.
