I've been involved with software engineering, IT consulting, and computer forensics since the late 70’s Starting in 2006, I focused in on computer forensics and ediscovery. I am now spending most of my time on incident response, security monitoring, digital forensics, malware, and OSINT. I work for a major consulting firm. During the last 15 years I've also been heavily involved with domestic and international search and rescue. The investigations and law enforcement aspects of SAR contributed significantly to my interest in computer forensics and investigations. I have conducted acquisitions in hostile environments, run three week acquisition tours through Asia, investigated IP theft cases, led a disaster preparedness assessment project in Tajikistan, and rescued wayward Americans in Australia. I also fly sailplanes, fixed wings, helicopters, and drones. The opinions expressed in this blog are mine and mine alone.
