First Lady Molissie Baines was born and raised in Wharton, Texas. She is the proud wife of Dr. Theodore Baines, Sr. Pastor or the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Houston, Texas and on June 9th, the two will celebrate 42 years of marriage. Sis. Baines has been a pastor's wife for 32 years and in that time she has served as director of women's ministry, as the writer of her church's newsletter, ALICE, A Life Inspiring Changing Experience, as the Director of PEACE Ministry, Pursuing Excellence After Christ's Example - a ministers' and deacons' wives ministry, and Sunday School teacher. Though heavily talented, Sis. Baines is known for her beautiful gift of song. Her voice is a true gift from God and she gives Him all of the credit, glory, and honor for the gift He's given. After 32 years of ministry, Sis. Baines's desire remains the same: to educate and encourage women of God especially ministers' and deacons' wives. Her message: as a woman of God, never lose your identity while supporting your husband in ministry and use your own unique gifts to glorify God. Sis. Baines has organized conferences, workshops, fellowships, and retreats to encourage, include, and support women in ministry. In 2016, Sis. Molissie Baines retired from Lamar CISD after 23 years of service as an Inclusion Specialist. Sis. Baines also has a unique talent for baking, and in 2000, the Lord blessed her to open Nannie Nett's Cup of Tea Cakes-adding entrepreneur to her list of specialties! Family is Sis Baines's heart. Her daughter, First Lady Trawlyn Hodge is married to Pastor Leroy Hodge, Jr. , her son, Rev. Theodore Baines, Jr., is married to Sis. Monica Baines. She has six beautiful and talented grandchildren- Jaylon, J'Neise, and Jakayla Hodge and Genelle, Danielle, and Gabrielle Baines. Sis. Baines's favorite song is "The Blood Will Never Lose It's Power" and her favorite scripture is Philippians 4:13 because she knows through Christ she can do all things.
