Millicent Borishade

For nearly three decades, Dr. Millicent Borishade has led educational transformation across Illinois, Washington, and Missouri. Beginning her career as a kindergarten teacher, she advanced into district and executive leadership through a commitment to educational excellence, equity, and accountability. Her experience spans every level of K–12 leadership, giving her a unique perspective on building systems that support both educators and students. Before entering education, Dr. Borishade served in the Illinois Army National Guard while completing her degree at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, an experience that shaped her disciplined leadership style. Today, she is recognized for creating innovative academic programs, strengthening family engagement, mentoring educational leaders, and helping school systems achieve lasting improvement through strategic leadership and a student-centered vision.
