Patti Brown

"Journalism is the literature of politics." Polly Twocents is the pseudonym for the political commentary of Patti Brown, a mother of five adult kids who has a MS in journalism with a minor in political science from Iowa State University and an MSW from the University of Iowa. She is currently a PhD candidate at Iowa State University scrambling to finish a dissertation before all of her courses "age out." Patti has worked as a social worker in hospital, hospice and mental health settings, a staff writer and columnist for The Catholic Mirror in Des Moines, IA and writer for The Des Moines Register covering the faith and values (religion!) page and many assignments in the business section. She is unabashedly pro-life, pro-family and a bleeding-heart conservative. After living in Iowa for more than four decades, Patti and her husband moved to Colorado in 2020.
