Terry has over thirty years experience in the non-profit and for profit sectors as an experienced ad - ministrator, problem solver, and strategic planner. As former senior pastor of a large Lutheran Congregation in West Des Moines, Iowa, his background is extensive and varied, with a strong track record in training, team building, group dynamics, crisis management, counseling, and leadership development. Terry’s strength, education and experience lend themselves to guiding people and organizations into, through and beyond change. He brings with him proven abilities in leadership development, teaching, personnel management, coaching and ex - ecution of both long and short-term plans. He continues to serve on numerous boards and committees in the public and not-for-profit sectors. Terry is a Virtual CEO Certified Solutions Provider, a Certified Independent Trainer for the DeBono Six Thinking Hats Method and has completed facilitator training in Lateral Thinking Systems and Simplified Strategic Planning. He a Certified Birkman Method Consultant. In addition, he serves on the adjunct faculties of Buena Vista and William Penn Universities, teaching business and professional ethics. He is also certified in the Vistage Financial Diagnostic Tool. Terry is President and Senior Advisor of ROCKSOLID - A Leadership Growth Company, (formerly Executive Growth LLC) , a Central Iowa firm that works with small to medium companies in the areas of Strategic Thinking, Execution and Alignment, Teambuilding, Executive and Leadership Development and Training In his role as one of 500 Vistage Chairs in the world, Terry convenes two, by invitation only, think tanks, for select CEO’s , Presidents, owners of companies and senior executives in Central Iowa, working together to become better leaders, making better decisions leading to better results. At the 2005 International Conference of Vistage in Washington DC, he was selected as a recipient of the Chair Excellence Award given only to the organizations top Group Chairs. During 2005 through early 2006, Terry, at Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack’s request, chaired the Governor’s Property Management Advisory Committee, composed of CEOs and Senior Executives from private industry. The select Advisory Committee, reviewed state property issues, provided advice and submitted final recommendations to the Governor which were subsequently approved for implementation by both houses of the State Legislature. In the fall of 2006, he was appointed by the Governor to the State Vertical Infrastructure Commission.
